The Bonita Landing CDD encompasses an area of approximately 104.42 acres in the city of Bonita Springs, Lee County, Florida, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities. The land within the District is generally located north of Lee/Collier County line bounded on the north by Bonita Beach Road, on the south by farmland, on the east by additional property that is p[art of proposed residential development and on the west by the residential development known as Village Walk.

A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
